Swimming The Channel 2008

There are few challenges that can stand the test of time. With modern science and technology many great challenges are not undertaken on the same basis as the original pioneers who first dreamed them possible. When Captain Matthew Webb swam the Channel in 1875 he used one costume, hat, pair of goggles and grease. For the crossing to be recognized officially today the same restrictions must apply.

Its painfully simple. One must start and finish clear of the water, not touch any person or the support vessel, nor use any aid regarding warmth or buoyancy.

After many years of training, during August this year Mark Robson will be attempting the mammoth task of Swimming the English Channel, in an attempt to raise ten thousand pounds for the J-A-C-K foundation, his progress can be followed at www.swimmingthechannel2008.blogspot.com

Please consider sponsoring online and help him attain his target.
